General Tools 14 Piece Quad Saw/Driver

The Problem with Hacksaws

A standard hacksaw is bulky. The frame takes up a disproportionate amount of space in a portable kit relative to how often you actually use it. But when you need a saw, you need a saw. The General Tools Quad Saw/Driver is a compact alternative that earns its place at under $20.

What You Get

The kit includes 3 saw blades (wood, metal, and drywall), a magnetic bit holder, and assorted driver bits. The handle rotates 360 degrees for confined-space work, and the whole thing fits in a belt holster. Under $20.

Multi-Function Done Right

  • Hacksaw replacement: The metal-cutting blade handles conduit, small pipe, threaded rod, and bolts. It is slower than a full hacksaw but takes up a fraction of the space.
  • Right-angle driver: The rotating handle lets you drive screws in tight spaces where a straight screwdriver cannot reach. Not a replacement for a proper right-angle attachment, but useful in a pinch.
  • Drywall saw: The drywall blade cuts outlet boxes and small openings cleanly.
  • Wood saw: Light-duty wood cutting for shims, trim, and small cuts.

Limitations

This is not a replacement for a proper reciprocating saw or a full-size hacksaw for heavy work. The blades are short, the handle provides limited leverage, and sustained cutting in thick metal will tire your hand. It is a portable multi-tool that handles light cutting tasks well within its design envelope. The rotating handle for confined spaces is what really sets it apart from just carrying a spare hacksaw blade.
