23 pockets, solid stitching, heavy-duty fabric. At $40, this is the entry-level option that actually works. The pockets are well-sized for hand tools, and the bag stands up on its own. The limitation is capacity. With 23 pockets vs. the VETO's 40, you run out of organized space quickly.
Klein Tradesman Pro - $75
40 pockets, 1680D ballistic nylon, molded bottom. Klein split the difference on price and came close on features. The pocket layout is thoughtful, the bag is rigid enough to stay open while you work, and the bottom will not wear through on concrete. This is the strongest value in the comparison.
VETO PRO PAC OT-XL - $220
40 pockets, vertical tool storage, waterproof base, lifetime warranty (limited). The VETO is overbuilt in the best way. Vertical storage means you can see every tool at a glance. The construction quality is noticeably above the Klein, and the warranty backs it up.
The Verdict
Are any of these VETO killers? No. Comparing the CLC to the VETO is like comparing a Ford Focus to a Lamborghini -- they are in entirely different classes. The Klein Tradesman Pro is the best value and will serve most people well, but the VETO's vertical organization and build quality are in a different league. If your tools earn you money, buy the VETO. If this is a home kit, the Klein is the smart pick.
